Yuma, a widower and single father, is the owner of a Textile Shop in Morioh. He was raised in a small household by his loving and caring mother, who owned the of the said Textile Shop in their hometown in Morioh, Japan.As a teenager, Yuma spent a majority of his time helping his mother in their Textile Shop in Morioh. Together, they crafted and sold a variety of crochet items to their community and tourists. Such as dolls, blankets, quilts, scarves, and provided materials for such activities.In 1989, Yuma at 24, married a woman, named Aimi Sayama, an alleged yakuza patriarch's daughter, and together they had a daughter named Haruka. Despite Aimi being somewhat absent due to her job, Yuma took on the role of primary caregiver during the day. Although, Yuma didn't mind at all. Aimi still found time to spend time with him and their daughters.
In 1994, the family welcomed another child, named Akame. Unfortunately, later in the year. Aimi had lost her life in a robbery gone wrong. She died protecting her husband and two daughters. Unfortuntely, the assailant was never found.Since this loss, Yuma had been quiet and reserved with himself, always keeping himself at a distance away from other residents in his hometown. His day-to-day routine would be just him, managing and taking care of his family shop while also taking care of his two girls on his own.

Yuma is known by others for his gentle and meek nature. He is very protective of his two daughters, not to a point where he shelters them. He is a reserved individual who prefers to himself, finding comfort in the quiet moments of life. He is often described by others as a kind and empathetic individual who would go out of his way to help out others. He always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Due to his experiences, it has made him more aware of the dangers of Stands and their users in Morioh and outside of it.One of Yuma's notable traits is his genuine kindness and general love for people. Yuma is immensely empathic and non-judgmental to those in similar situations.
He is always willing to help out anyone in need and put others before himself. He's compassionate to people at their lowest and shows forgiveness even to those who wronged him because he understands what it's like to struggle alone without any help. As many tend to point out, Yuma's trusting, good-natured disposition makes it easy for others to take advantage of him. Yuma understands this and accepts responsibility for his actions, striving to make amends should problems arise. He believes in the best in people and that anyone can atone for their past mistakes and that they can redeem themselves.
